Title: Plucker
Series: Recoil Rock Series #2
Author: KE Osborn
Genre: Rocker Romance
Release: March 9, 2017

Death—it is inevitable, but I didn't know it could come so early.
If things didn't change, mine would be sooner than expected.
My life hasn't been easy, though with the way I act you’d think it has been.

I'm a joker, a partier, a playboy, a prankster. But I'm also broken.
A shell of a man.

Ryan Hunter, lead guitarist with nothing to live for.

Not even music soothes me completely.
My band is back together, we're doing really well—but I'm in a rut.
I'm lost, thinking about my past is swallowing me whole.
Especially since she turned up.
Our new PR manager. She’s feisty, in control and so damn sexy I can't stand it.
But that woman is not only taking my PR role from me, she's also taking my breath away, and that I won't stand for.
Not with my past, not with my demons.
Tillie Marks has to go.
And I will make damn sure it happens!

Furrowing my brows at his attitude, I’m beginning to think Lunar’s surmise on Ryan being a fucker was right on the money. Even so, I can’t help but look past his assholery to see a broken man. A soft, kind hearted soul who just needs some gentle care. I wonder what’s happened in his life to form the dark circles under his eyes, and for him to put on this bravado act I can see right through.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” he asks.
“Like what?” I ask with a small amount of shock in my voice.
“I don’t know. You’re hard to read and you’re looking at me weird.”
“Oh God Ryan you’re so melodramatic.” Ryan frowns at Lunar as she walks in. “And leave Tillie alone. She’s the only other set of ovaries in this place, I need her alive.”
I smirk at her choice of words.
Ryan huffs. “You can have her all to yourself, I have no need for her.”
Ouch. I have to admit his words do sting a little. I like to be needed, and something in me wants to rush to Ryan and be his protector, even though he’s treating me like shit.
“Well, Ryan, you may not want me, but you’re stuck with me. So deal with it by putting your big boy panties on and behaving like an adult. You do know what an adult is, don’t you?” I tease.
He smirks. “Funny! Would someone who behaves like an adult be so condescending?”
I stiffen because he’s right. I hate to admit it, but he’s pushing my buttons and making me snappy because I’m so desperate for his approval. I’m never like this, never talk back to my clients, unless there’s real need for it. I’m here solely for PR work, and usually my clients listen to everything I say without question. After all, they’re paying for my expertise.
I’m not used to this, at all.
Damn it!
“You’re right, I’m sorry.”
“Apology accepted,” he says but offers nothing in return.
My eyes open wide in infuriation as the others watch.
“Well?”
“Well what?”
“Aren’t you sorry, too?” I ask.
“What for?”
I scoff. “What for? What for! Oh my… okay, I see what you’re doing. You’re trying to rile me up and anger me so I’ll quit, right?” His smile falters like he’s annoyed I’m onto him. “Well, let me tell you, Ryan Hunter, it will take more than that to get rid of me, sir!”
He tilts his head. “Leave it with me. I’m sure I’ll think of something—”

***A Standalone novel in The Pucked Series***
I’m NHL defenseman Lance Romero, AKA Lance “Romance."
I’m notorious for parties and excess. I have the most penalty minutes in the league. I get into the most fights. I take the most hits. I’m a player on and off the ice. I’m the one women with no inhibitions want.
Not because I like the notoriety, but because I don’t know how to be any other way.
I have secrets. Ones I shared with the wrong person, and she used them against me. Sometimes she still does. I should cut ties. But she makes it difficult, because she’s the kind of bad I deserve.
At least that’s what I believed until someone from my past gets caught up in my present. She’s all the good things in this world. She lights up my dark.
I shouldn’t want her.
But I do.
I should leave her alone.
But I won’t.

Excerpt:

I’ve agreed to go out with Lance. On a date. Two actually. I don’t even know what to think. I grab my purse and slip into my jacket. As fall settles in and the temperature drops, layers are becoming necessary. When I return, Lance is standing at the desk, checking his phone. He’s smiling. “Ready to go,” I say. He hits a couple of buttons, pockets his phone, and turns that grin on me. “Cool.” I lock up the clinic, and Lance walks me across the lot. This time he doesn’t leave the usual space between us, and the back of his hand grazes my hip. I’m nervous when we reach my car. His Hummer is parked right behind my Mini this time. I adjust the strap of my purse and look up at him. Strangely, he looks as nervous as me. He scans my face and takes a small step closer. I can see his hand lifting in my peripheral vision. My hair is in a ponytail, which is sitting on my shoulder. He fingers the end of it. “Why do I always want to pull this?” I don’t have the opportunity to answer, because he drops his head and his lips skim my cheek. “I want to kiss you.” “You just did,” I whisper. “I want do it again, but here.” His thumb touches my bottom lip. “Oh.” He’s so close. His lips almost touching mine as he asks, “Can I do that?” “Yes, please.” His lids grow heavy, and he kisses the corner of my mouth. Lance strokes my cheek and rests his palm on the side of my neck. The other hand skims the length of my arm until he reaches my fingertips. He leans back a little, and for a second I think it’s over before it’s even begun, but he takes my hand in his. Uncurling my fingers, he lifts it and presses my palm against his cheek. A full-body tremor runs through him, and his eyes drift closed. He turns his head toward my palm, and I smooth my thumb along the contour of his bottom lip. A deep sound comes from the back of his throat, making my skin prickle and heat blossom in my belly. When he opens his eyes again, the fire in them matches the heat flooding my entire body. “Can you keep yer hand right here?” “If you want me to, yes.” “I definitely do.” He leans in and brushes his lips over mine again. It’s soft and warm. The next time he takes my bottom lip between his, he releases it slowly, and then does the same with the top one. When his tongue flicks out, I might whimper. Light fingers cup my head, and I tilt it back farther. I part my lips, and his tongue sweeps my mouth. His groan is low, sending a shiver down my spine. He drops the hand that’s keeping mine pressed against his cheek. His arm winds around my waist, and he pulls me in tight against him. I expect the kiss to grow in intensity. It doesn’t, though I can feel the heat building inside me. That feeling I’ve been searching for all these years is finally back.

They fell in love at thirteen.
He wrote a book about it at twenty.
She watched him walk away at twenty-three.
And he made the New York Times Best Sellers list at twenty-four.

Campbell ‘Cam’ Potter stood idly by as August Wyatt took over the world one word at a time. Chapter by chapter, people fell in love with the story he created – the events she lived. And now the book was being made into a movie, it was only a matter of time before August was back in their small hometown in Georgia.

The problem was, when August left five years ago, Cam made a promise to herself. The ending in his book would be the conclusion to their story. There was no sequel, no second chance, no possibility of ever seeing him again. He obliterated her heart and she was determined to never let it happen again.

That is, until Cam gets a late night text from the heartbreaker himself.
New chapters are written, fresh storylines are explored and Cam and August find a familiarity in one another.

Sometimes THE END doesn’t mean it’s over.

About LOVE RESTORED

In the first of a Montgomery Ink spin-off series from NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan, a broken man uncovers the truth of what it means to take a second chance with the most unexpected woman…
Graham Gallagher has seen it all. And when tragedy struck, lost it all. He’s been the backbone of his brothers, the one they all rely on in their lives and business. And when it comes to falling in love and creating a life, he knows what it’s like to have it all and watch it crumble. He’s done with looking for another person to warm his bed, but apparently he didn’t learn his lesson because the new piercer at Montgomery Ink tempts him like no other.
Blake Brennen may have been born a trust fund baby, but she’s created a whole new life for herself in the world of ink, piercings, and freedom. Only the ties she’d thought she’d cut long ago aren’t as severed as she’d believed. When she finds Graham constantly in her path, she knows from first glance that he’s the wrong kind of guy for her. Except that Blake excels at making the wrong choice and Graham might be the ultimate temptation for the bad girl she’d thought long buried.

When the game started, and the Avs took the ice, Graham kept his attention on the players rather than the very sexy woman beside him. His team needed his head to be in the game and not on Blake’s curves. And, yes, he might be a little superstitious, but whatever. At the face off, Toronto took possession of the puck, and Blake let out a little cheer— not loud enough for others to hear, but just those on either side of her. Holy hell, had Austin sent a traitor into their midst? A freaking Toronto fan at a home game for the Avalanche? What the hell was that Montgomery thinking? He growled at her as she quietly cheered the first Maple Leaf goal and met Derek’s eyes. Why the hell was the other man laughing? Couldn’t he see that Blake was cheering for the wrong team? She lived in freaking Denver for God’s sake, and considering that her family’s ancestral home was here, she had to be a native. And yet, she cheered for Toronto? It was as if she were trying to annoy him. After the first period, he got up, his hands fisting at his sides. “I need another beer.” Owen, who had been quiet the entire time since he was apparently answering emails on his phone, looked up. “Grab me a soda, will you? I need some caffeine, and since I’m driving us home, I’ll let you drink.” He winked toward Blake. “I think you’re going to need alcohol tonight.” Graham grunted and stomped his way through the aisle and up the stairs so he could get a beer. Since everyone and their mother got up during intermission, he’d have to wait in line, but maybe that would help him cool off. He was just so freaking pissed that she would dare root for another team. And that made no sense. Why could she get under his skin so easily? “Hey, Graham, wait up,” Derek said as he jogged up behind him. “I don’t know what you did to piss Blake off, but I should probably let you know she’d rooting for Toronto just to needle you.” Graham turned. “Excuse me?” He must have looked like he wanted to rip someone’s arm off because a few people moved back in the line and Derek held up his hands. “She’s a diehard Avs fan. Even owns a signed Sakic jersey and keeps a spare she can wear during games. The signed one only comes out during the playoffs. It’s got to be killing her to root for the other team, and it must be because of you.” That little witch. “How do you know it’s not because of you?” he asked, intrigued and pissed off all at the same time that she would do something like that. “Because we’re friends, not close ones, but friends. This isn’t a date or anything, just to let you know. I think she’s single, but since my girlfriend up in Seattle would skin me if I even dared to look at Blake that way, I’m just fine as I am. Anyway, I thought you should know that she’s just trying to piss you off. Bro code and all that.” Graham clenched his teeth. “Bro code.” He ordered his beer, Owen’s soda, and paid for Derek and Blake’s drinks since Derek had been so helpful. “What are you going to do about Blake?” Derek asked as they made their way back to the entrance and showed their tickets. “Don’t know yet.” And that was the problem. He never knew about anything where it came to this woman. She could intrigue him, turn him on, and piss him off all in the span of ten minutes. That had to be a record. He handed Owen his drink and sat back down, studying Blake as he did so. “What?” she asked, brows raised. “Nothing,” he said softly. “Not yet anyway.” She blinked and opened her mouth to say something, then froze as people started to chant, “Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!” around them. Graham slowly looked up at the huge screen on top of the ice and cursed. “You’ve got to be fucking kidding me.” Blake laughed. “No way. No fucking way.” “Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!” He was pretty sure Owen was yelling the loudest, and Graham was going to have to kick his brother’s ass when this was over. “Fuck it,” Graham growled and gripped the back of Blake’s head and crushed his mouth to hers. They both froze a moment as cheers erupted around them before he sank deeper into the kiss. He didn’t open his mouth, wouldn’t let his tongue touch hers, but the moment of lips against lips left him breathless. He pulled back, his eyes wide, Blake’s even wider. “What the hell was that?” Blake gasped, her cheeks slashed with red. “I…” He cleared his throat. “Just watch the game. And you can cheer for your precious Avs. Don’t hurt yourself going for Toronto.” He turned away from her and gulped half his beer down in one go. He could feel Blake’s eyes on him before she turned away, and see her hands shaking out of the corner of his eye. “Dude,” Owen whispered. “This is going to be fun.” “Fuck you,” Graham growled and drank the last of his beer. He didn’t know what had come over him, but that had to be the last of it. There was no way he was going to go there. If he were this unraveled and tense at the same time with just one kiss, with just one look, he wouldn’t make it if he had her in his arms. In his bed. Blake wasn’t for him, and damn it, he didn’t want her to be. The Kiss Cam could go straight to hell.
